Burying electrical lines for a cabin near Miola
Like many people these days, one of our clients bought a tiny home to use for vacations in Western Pennsylvania. However, without electricity, some members of the family were less excited about it.
That’s where we came in! We were able to connect their tiny home to the closest electrical pole, which, like most rural wooded areas, was roughly 400-500 feet away.
First, everything had to be measured and cleared with the utility company. Then, we dug a narrow ditch. Unfortunately, the topsoil was very thin and it was mostly rock that needed to be dug out. They’d very common in Western Pennsylvania and it definitely is slower to dig out than dirt!
Next, we worked with the utility company (Unilec) to install the proper equipment and bury it. We also put in the conduit and the pipes. Finally, we buried it and smoothed out the road with some gravel.
This tiny home now has what they need to keep them warm and well-lit this fall, and for years to come! That’s a win-win for everyone!
