Soggy, steep backyard gets level and dry!

One of our recent clients came to us about their backyard.

It was:

  • steep and rough

  • pitted with tree roots

  • uneven, patchy, rocky topsoil

  • On top of that, their neighbors’ landscaping had recently funneled runoff from the neighbors’ yard down into their yard.

  • Every time it rained or snowed, our clients’ back yard was essentially unusable.

  • It was very hard to mow the yard with all the steepness, bumps and soggy grass.

We quickly got a plan together to fix this BEFORE winter set in. Drainage pipes were set strategically throughout the yard to route the neighbors’ water properly.

PSA: Do not be fooled by contractors who skip this crucial step! Changing the surface appearance WITHOUT solving the underlying issues costs homeowners MORE MONEY LONG-TERM.

SAVE your money and hire a professional who can tell the difference, and who can have a conversation about it before the job starts. They will also need to know how to skillfully grade topsoil away from the house foundation to prevent leaking and puddling around your basement.

This LOOKS easy, but not everyone can do it. It may cost more, but that way you will be able to fix and maintain critical parts of your property that you use every day!

Of course, we also regraded their yard thoroughly, paying attention to the wooded areas that still had high foot traffic. We will post more pictures of this job in the spring, but our customers are thrilled that their yard will survive the muddy, soggy spring rain season.
