Cleaning out a pond

Do you have a pond that needs cleaned out? Give us a call and check out this success story!

We built a shopping center about ten years ago that had a pond on it completed by another contractor. This pond developed drainage issues and began to grow algae, rushes and other plant life. Among other problems, it was no longer viable to use as it was.

So, the owner called us up and we headed back to our old stomping grounds in Greater Pittsburgh!

First, we consulted with the owner and created a plan for cleanup.

Second, we moved in our materials and equipment.

Third, we installed some new pipes after safely draining the pond.

Fourth, we scraped the mud out of the pond and safely deposited it in a holding area for hauling away.

Fifth, we added a new layer of fresh gravel to the bottom of the pond. This will prevent further mud problems from ruining the pond.

Sixth, we monitored the pond to see how it filled and drained after several rain showers. Things looked as they should so we proceeded.

We were called away to another emergency job and weren’t able to put the finishing touches on this job. However, it get did taken care of and now looks better than ever!

Check out our gallery of photos to see how we did!
