Part Five: Avoid HEADACHES with your dirt work in Clarion, Forest or Jefferson County, PA

Last but not least: here is Part Five, the final installment of our series on contracting in Western Pennsylvania.

Although our focus has been on septic systems, this professional advice can also work for driveways, foundations, spring developments, retaining walls, ponds, additions, and foundation repairs!

In PART ONE, we covered why we believe you should always hire a contractor with EXPERIENCE over the low bidder.

In PART TWO, we discuss how important it is for clients to be ready to LEARN.

In PART THREE, we explain why we never rush through the PLANNING phase just to get to the “fun stuff”.

In PART FOUR, we review how QUALITY suffers when clients get impatient.

5. THINK ABOUT THE LONG GAME.

Sure, these clients we worked for were happy to “just get it done” when they hired a fast and cheap contractor for their initial build.

However, that victory lap didn’t feel so good after the dust settled on their sloppy, cheap dirt work.

Clients quickly realized that by pressuring their contractor to work in wet weather, meet unrealistic deadlines, and focus on “finishing the job” at the expense of quality and attention to detail, they had accidentally created a lot of expensive problems for very little gain!

We like to tell clients that these parts of their property should be as important to them as taking care of their health.

Just as you have to get the minimum amount of food, water and sleep every day, and should prioritize the basics (hydration, nutrition, sleep, etc.) if you skimp on your driveway, yard or foundation, you will have to live with sub-par results EVERY DAY.

What may not seem like a big deal when the job is finishing up in June… may turn into a real headache when you’re trying to back out of an icy driveway on a dark morning in January!

We hope you enjoyed this five-part series!
